Remote Readiness for Jobseekers, the book by Maya Middlemiss

The course brings the book to life.

The Remote Readiness Course turns the 5Cs framework from Maya's book Remote Readiness for Jobseekers into a personal portfolio you can show recruiters. Same framework. Same five competencies. Your evidence, your profile, with AI coaching on every lesson.

The full PDF e-book is included free with every course purchase. Paperback available separately on Amazon.

You're a capable professional with real experience. But every remote job description asks for "proven remote experience" – and your CV can't address that. You know you can do this. You just can't prove it yet.

Hundreds of applicants are writing the same cover letter: "I'm self-motivated, a great communicator, and comfortable working independently." Every single one of them says that. None of them can prove it either.

What if you could clearly demonstrate how you're remote-ready?

The Remote Readiness Programme helps you build a portfolio of evidence proving you can thrive in a distributed team – drawn from your whole life, not just your employment history.

By the end, you'll have your own Remote Readiness Profile – a hosted, shareable proof page that shows employers exactly what you bring, backed by evidence they can click into and verify.

Built on the 5Cs Framework

Five competencies essential for remote work success. Click to explore each one.

Culture

Read, shape, and strengthen team culture from anywhere

Communication

Write clearly, work async, adapt to any channel

Console

Tools, security, digital workspace fluency

Collaboration

Deliver results in distributed teams

Connection

Build relationships without proximity

Culture – contributing to teams you've never met in person
Can you read, contribute to, and strengthen a team's culture without being in the room? Can you demonstrate cultural awareness across borders and time zones? The programme helps you evidence this from employment, volunteering, travel, or community work.
Communication – async clarity as a superpower
Can you write clearly, communicate asynchronously, and make yourself understood without tap-on-the-shoulder conversations? Can you adapt your communication to different tools and contexts? Evidence can come from any setting where you coordinated people without being in the same room.
Console – your digital workspace and tool fluency
Do you have a functional digital workspace? Can you learn new tools quickly, maintain good digital hygiene, and handle the basics of security and data awareness? Self-taught skills and personal setups count as much as employer-provided training.
Collaboration – shipping work without someone standing over you
Can you deliver results as part of a distributed team? Can you demonstrate ownership, accountability, and the ability to ship work without someone standing over you? Project portfolios, academic group work, and volunteer coordination all count.
Connection – belonging without proximity
Can you build and maintain professional relationships without proximity? Can you create belonging in a team you've never met in person? Community organising, online groups, and social initiatives are powerful evidence here.

How the programme works

1

Learn

Five modules, one per competency. Work at your own pace, in any order. Based on the 5Cs framework by Maya Middlemiss.

2

Reflect & gather

AI prompts help you find evidence from your whole life – career, volunteering, community, self-directed learning.

3

Assess

Conversational AI assessment per module. Not a tick-box quiz – a real conversation about how you'd handle remote work situations.

4

Build evidence

Submit your portfolio. The AI reviews for depth and prompts you to go deeper, finding examples you might have overlooked.

5

Publish

Publish each competency when it's ready. Go public with your strongest areas while you keep building the others.

6

Keep growing

Come back anytime. Add new evidence, retake assessments, strengthen your profile as your experience grows.

Questions before you buy

What's a Remote Readiness profile, and how does it help me get hired?
Your Remote Readiness profile is a public, shareable page that proves you can thrive in a distributed team, backed by your own evidence across the five competencies remote employers actually screen for. A recruiter can read it in two minutes, click into your evidence to verify it, and put it alongside your CV when they're shortlisting. It's the missing layer most remote-work applications never include.
How is the course different from just reading the book?
The book teaches the framework. The course makes you apply it to your own life. Per-lesson AI coaching prompts you to find specific evidence from your career, volunteering, community work, and self-directed learning, then helps you frame it the way recruiters need to see it. The output is a polished, published profile, not just an understanding of the framework. And the PDF e-book of Remote Readiness for Jobseekers is included free with every course purchase anyway.
Do I have to have read the book first?
No. The course takes you through the framework in a structured way, with AI coaching at every step. The book is a companion read; you get the PDF to keep regardless. Plenty of learners do the course first and read the book afterwards, or work through both in parallel.
What exactly do I get for €399?
Five modules covering Culture, Communication, Console, Collaboration, and Connection. AI conversational coaching on every lesson, not tick-box quizzes. Guided evidence-gathering with prompts drawn from your whole life. A hosted Remote Readiness profile, free for your first published year. The full PDF e-book of Remote Readiness for Jobseekers. Course access for as long as the course runs, so you can come back any time as your experience grows. One-time payment.
How long does the course take?
You can work through the first module in an evening, or stretch the full course across a few months at your own pace. Most learners spend 1-2 weeks of focused effort per competency. The work is more involved than a typical video course because you're producing a real portfolio piece, not just watching lessons. There's no expiry on your course access.
How does access work, and what if I lose my login?
After purchase you'll get a magic link to your email. Click it, you're in. Your session lasts at least a month and refreshes automatically every time you use the course, so you won't get timed out partway through a module. If you do lose access (new device, browser cleared, anything), just request a fresh magic link from the same email. Your progress and your profile are tied to your email address.
What happens to my profile after the first year?
Your published Remote Readiness profile is hosted free for one year from the date you publish it. After that, a small annual fee keeps your profile live at your public URL so recruiters can still find it. You can let your profile lapse and republish later if your circumstances change. Your course access and your private work in the course aren't affected either way.
What if it's not for me? Refund policy
Work through the first module. If the dashboard you're building doesn't serve your situation, email Maya within 30 days of purchase at [email protected] and you'll get a full refund of the course. Your profile gets taken down. You keep the e-book either way.
