Partner with us › Referrals

We send you clients. You pay us when they become business.

No fee to start. No monthly cost. If nothing comes of it, you pay nothing at all.

And you do not need any special software. That is the part most people expect to be the problem, and it is not.

Why ordinary affiliate tracking does not work for this

Affiliate links were built for shopping. Somebody clicks, buys a pair of shoes that afternoon, and the link gets the credit. It works because the whole thing happens in one sitting.

Our readers are not doing that. They are thinking about moving to another country. Someone reads a guide in March, does nothing for a year, and starts the visa in the following spring. By then the link that sent them has long since stopped counting, and the introduction is invisible to everybody.

So we stopped using the tracking and started keeping a record instead.

How it actually works

  1. Someone asks to be introduced

A reader finds your page on our site and fills in a short form. They are asking to be put in touch with you. Nobody is added to a marketing list and nobody is passed on without asking.

  2. You get an email, straight away

Their name, what they need, and the date and time it arrived. It reaches you and us at the same moment, so there is never a version of events where one of us knew first.

  3. The same introduction writes itself down

A new line appears on a record we both hold: who they are, what they asked for, the date, and the date the arrangement stops covering them. Nobody has to remember to add it, which matters, because the one that gets forgotten is always the one from three years ago.

  4. You fill in what happened

As a case moves along you update two things: where it got to, and what you were actually paid. Our share works itself out from the figure you enter. There is nothing for either of us to calculate or argue about.

The record is one document, and you can see all of it

Not our copy and your copy. One shared document, which you can open whenever you like. You are not asking us for a report and waiting to be told what it says.

Every line has a date on it. So does every expiry. If you ever want to know whether somebody is covered by our arrangement, you look at their line and read the date. There is no judgement involved and nothing to interpret.

Three rules, and they protect you as much as us

If they were already yours, they do not count.
Mark the line and it comes out. We prove the introduction with a date; you prove the earlier contact with a date. The same test, both directions.
If there is no line, we are not claiming them.
A record can only prove that something happened. It cannot prove that something did not. So when somebody reaches you another way and we have nothing written down, we do not come to you about it.
You are paid first, always.
Our share is worked out from money you have actually received, not from what was quoted or invoiced. If a client never pays you, there is nothing owing to us.

We agree how long it runs, before anything starts

There is no standard number, because the right one depends entirely on what you sell.

Somebody buying a course decides in weeks. Six months covers that comfortably. Somebody buying an apartment will rent first, look for a year, and complete three or four years after they first read about the place. Five years is not generous there. It is just what actually happens.

So we work it out with you at the beginning, and we write it down. It is then the same for every introduction we make to you, and neither of us has to think about it again.

Whatever we agree, we both have a time-stamped record of the moment the clock started on any particular person – and the date it stops.

Which is the part that makes a long window reasonable rather than alarming. It is not an open-ended claim on everyone you ever meet. It is one date, on one line, that you can look at whenever you want.

What we ask of you

Very little, and none of it technical.

  • Answer the people we send you, even when the answer is that you cannot help them.
  • Keep your lines on the record up to date, roughly once a month.
  • Tell us if the arrangement stops working for you, rather than quietly letting it fade.

We will do the same. We have ended partnerships that were not serving our readers well, and we would far rather say so plainly than keep something going out of politeness.

Try it before you commit to anything

We would genuinely rather you tested it than took our word for it. Fill in the form on your own page as though you were a reader, and watch the line appear on the record in front of you. It takes about a minute, and it answers more questions than this page can.

Not what you are after? There are four other ways to work with us.

Start a referral partnership

Tell us what you do and who you do it for. If there is a fit we will set up a page, a form and a shared record, and you will see your first introduction land on it.

We answer every one of these, including when the answer is no.
