Survey privacy notice

State of Freelancing in Spain 2026 · Last updated 4 September 2026

The short version. Your answers are anonymous – we do not know who gave them, and neither does anyone else. If you give us an email address at the end, it is stored somewhere completely separate, and the two are never joined. Xolo Spain sponsors the prize and sees only the overall results.

Who we are

Remote Work Europe, operated by BlockSparks OÜ, Sepapaja 6, 15551 Tallinn, Estonia. Contact: [email protected].

Three separate things, handled three separate ways

1. Your survey answers – anonymous

We do not collect your name, your email address or your IP address alongside your answers. Timestamps are recorded only to the nearest minute, deliberately, rather than to the second. Nothing in the answer set identifies you, your answers are never joined to your email address, and Xolo Spain receives no data from which any individual could be identified.

Please do not type anything into the free-text boxes that would identify you. We may quote anonymised comments in the published report.

Answers are stored in Google Sheets (Google Workspace).

2. Your email, if you enter the prize draw

Lawful basis: contract – running the draw under the published terms.

Used only to notify you if you win, and to send you the results if you asked for them. Kept until the draw is settled and any claims resolved. Stored in Kit.

3. Your email, if you also asked to join the newsletter

Lawful basis: consent, given by ticking a separate, unticked box.

That box is not a condition of entering the draw, and the draw works identically whether or not you tick it. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email we send – as easily as you gave it. Kept until you unsubscribe or become inactive.

Who else sees anything

Xolo Spain supports this research and provides the prize. They receive the findings, and the full set of answers with all contact details removed – never your name, never your email address, and nothing that could identify you. Your email address is held separately and is never passed to them or joined to your answers. If you win, we will ask your permission before passing your delivery address to Xolo Spain so they can post the prize.

Processors: Google (Google Workspace – survey answers) and Kit (email). Kit is based in the United States; that transfer relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. We have data processing agreements with both. Write to us if you would like details of the safeguards.

How long we keep things

  • Survey answers – kept indefinitely for research and reporting.
  • Prize draw emails – until the draw is settled and any claims resolved.
  • The winner's details – as long as needed for delivery and our records.
  • Newsletter subscribers – until you unsubscribe or become inactive.
  • Consent records – kept as evidence for as long as we rely on the consent.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, or to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or provide it in a portable form. You can object to processing, and you can object to direct marketing at any time. You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it.

⚠️ One honest limitation: we hold nothing that links your answers to the email address you gave us, so in practice we cannot pick your individual answers out of the set. If you would like your entry removed, write to us and we will delete your email address from the prize draw and from our list.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD) at aepd.es.

Automated decision-making

None. We do not profile you and nothing about this survey is decided automatically.

Remote Work Europe, operado por BlockSparks OÜ, Sepapaja 6, 15551 Tallin, Estonia. Contacto: [email protected].

Tres cosas distintas, tratadas de tres formas distintas
