Resources

As a fully distributed organisation of collaborators, Remote Work Europe uses technology as our workplace. Our preferred tool stack is continually evolving, as new things come to market, and the possibilities extend and grow.

Which software to choose is such an important decision for every online organisation, because there are SO many to choose from, and they all do similar but different things - including overlapping with each other’s functions, and integrating in different ways.

So here’s our current stack of stuff, and hope that it’s helpful to you in deciding what would suit you best:

Please note, that a number of the links here are referral links - that means that if you choose to use them, and go on to become a paid customer of the tool, then we’ll get a ‘thank you’ payment from them.

You need to know some things about that though:

  1. We ONLY recommend tools that we actually use and believe in. These are the apps which actually power Remote Work Europe! In fact they’re the ones we think are good enough to be worth paying for.

  2. You can check out most of them at zero cost initially, to see whether they’d be worth investing your time and money into as tools for your business.

  3. Using these links will never cost you more than it would, by going directly to the software provider themselves, which you can easily do if you want to.

Notion

We manage projects and tasks, plan and create content of all kinds, record meetings, create documentation, and so much more, in the amazing ‘Swiss Army Knife’ tool that is Notion.

And if you have no clue where to start with it, Maya personally recommends training with Marie Poulin’s Notion Mastery course, as one of her best learning investments ever.

Convertkit

Enjoy receiving our newsletters every week?

We create them in Convertkit, which offers beautiful tools for managing email lists, as well as creating messages which are rich in images and media, using simple templates.

Slack

The totally distributed RWE team connect day to day via our own Slack community, where we share news, gossip., content, ideas, challenges, and best practice.

SquareSpace

This pretty website is made using SquareSpace, and once our partners at Informatic AI had set it all up, it became simple for Maya or anyone else to add pages and feeds and events, without breaking anything, at least hardly ever.

Authory

Maya’s freelance writing and journalism work helps to keep the Remote Work Europe wheels turning, and she created her beautiful portfolio in Authory - this automagically updates with new content, and lets her quickly organise curated collections to share in pitches, a really powerful niche tool for writers/creators.

Payhip

Our online store is managed in Payhip, who provide a beautiful user experience for both us and our customers - whether delivering a full length video course, or a simple ebook.

Their tools are very easy to use, support is great, and they offer all the payment gateways like Paypal, Stripe, etc.

Buzzsprout

The Remote Work Europe Podcast is hosted and syndicated by Buzzprout, who provide a very affordable and easy-to-use way to distribute the show to all the players and devices. If you’ve ever fancied hitting the mic, then this link gets you and us a $20 credit for checking them out.

Canva

We make all the graphics for website and social media using Canva.com - how on earth did we manage before that?

Streamyard

What do we use to record and livestream all our webinars, podcasts, and training? Streamyard!

While Meta are doing their best to break it, this still gives us the power to ‘go live’ all over social media at once, and our own website at the same time. Very powerful, but also easy and intuitive to use, with a great guest experience too.
