Veritas On The Go Solutions
Apostilles and US document coordination, from a distance
The visa is the part people worry about. The part that actually derails them is a birth certificate in the wrong form, an FBI check that expired while it sat in the post, or an apostille nobody told them they needed. Charlene Gotschall does this every day, for people who are already on the other side of an ocean.

Why we partner with Veritas
A large number of our readers are Americans moving to Europe, and almost every European residency route asks them for the same thing: US-issued documents, authenticated for use abroad. A birth certificate. An FBI background check. A marriage certificate, a degree, a police record from the state they last lived in.
Each of those has to be ordered from the right authority, often apostilled under the Hague Convention, sometimes translated, and all of it has to arrive inside a window before something else expires. Doing that from Valencia or Lisbon, in a different time zone, with a US county clerk who will not email, is genuinely difficult – and it is where applications stall.
It is also a gap we have never been able to fill. We can tell you what Spain asks for. We could not, until now, point you to someone who could review the US document side, catch problems early, and coordinate the process through to completion.
The goal is to catch problems before they become delays. Veritas reviews the US document side before the paperwork starts moving, looking for issues that could lead to rejection, rework, unnecessary follow-up or lost time, before documents are submitted for apostille, authentication, translation or onward use.
What Veritas does
Document ordering. Coordinating the ordering of vital records and official documents from the appropriate US authority – state, county or federal.
Apostille and authentication. Coordinating certification through the relevant Secretary of State or the US Department of State, so a document issued in one country is accepted in another.
Notarisation, including remote online notarisation where appropriate, when a document needs it before it can be authenticated.
Coordination end to end. Intake, scope, deadlines, courier, and keeping the sequence in the right order – which matters, because several of these steps invalidate each other if done out of turn.
What Veritas does not do, and this one matters
Veritas does not tell you which documents your visa requires. It is a document coordination service, not an immigration advisor, and Charlene is clear about that herself – her own signature line says so.
So the order of operations is: establish what you need from the consulate, your immigration professional, or the relevant authority first. Then Veritas coordinates the US document process. Starting the other way round is how people pay to apostille a document nobody asked for.
If you are not yet sure what Spain will want from you, that is a question for Richelle de Wit or for the consulate handling your application – not for this page.
Who it is for
- Americans applying for a Spanish digital nomad visa, non-lucrative visa or other residency route, who have already been told they need US-issued documents apostilled or otherwise prepared for use in Spain
- Anyone already in Europe who has discovered they need a US document and cannot easily go and get it
- People working to a consulate deadline, where a document expiring mid-process would mean starting again
- Anybody whose paperwork spans more than one US state, which is where the sequencing gets awkward
Who it is not for
If you are in the United States, have time, and only need one straightforward document, you can do this yourself. The state websites work and the fees are published. What you are buying here is somebody who knows the order, the exceptions and the current processing times, and who is in the right time zone to chase.
