TL;DR

  • NICE publishes its policy plainly: “2 days working from the office and 3 days of remote work, each week”, restated in 77 of its 177 adverts.
  • It advertises 16 fully remote European roles – but five of them contain that office-attendance text anyway. The defensible figure is 11.
  • Nine of the sixteen are in the UK. Germany has four; everywhere else in Europe has one.
  • The Spain-based role requires fluent French. Being in the country is not the qualification.

Most companies in this category leave you guessing. NICE does the opposite: it publishes its hybrid model, names it, gives you the number, and repeats it in nearly half its adverts.

“At NiCE, we work according to the NiCE-FLEX hybrid model, which enables maximum flexibility: 2 days working from the office and 3 days of remote work, each week.”

That clarity is exactly why NICE belongs in the Remote Work Europe open-to-remote hub, and it is why the remote roles are worth reading carefully rather than dismissing. NICE describes remote as a carve-out for “customer-facing positions”, with “our hybrid NiCE-FLEX model for all other positions”.

Figures are from NICE’s own job board on 7 September 2026: 177 live adverts.

How many NICE roles are remote in Europe?

Sixteen are tagged remote. Eleven are defensibly remote.

The gap matters. Five of the sixteen European remote adverts contain the NiCE-FLEX block in their body text – the one specifying two days in the office. A Senior Site Reliability Engineer advert tagged “United Kingdom – Remote” carries the tag #LI-Remote and the two-days-in-office paragraph in consecutive paragraphs. A Technical Support Engineer advert is tagged “United Kingdom – Remote” and #LI-Hybrid at the same time.

Which signal governs could not be determined from anything NICE publishes. It is the first question to put to the recruiter, and the cheapest one to ask.

By country:

CountryRemote adverts

Germany4
Sweden1
Netherlands1
Spain1

For scale: globally NICE has 65 remote adverts and 43 of them are in the United States. Two-thirds of its remote hiring is American, and more than half the European remainder is in one country.

Which departments have a remote route?

Six of fifteen. Nine have none at all.

R&D321

R&D is the striking one: 32 adverts on the board, one European remote role. The rest cluster in Raanana and Pune.

There is also a mismatch worth noting between NICE’s stated rule and its actual board. The careers page says remote is for “customer-facing positions” – but the UK DevOps and Site Reliability roles are infrastructure, not customer-facing. The rule is a summary, not a specification.

Three things to check before you apply

The language line, because it overrides where you live. NICE states language requirements plainly and absolutely:

  • Account Executive, Sweden – Remote: “Fluent in Swedish and English”
  • Senior Sales Engineer, AI Agents DACH, Germany – Remote: “Fluent in German and English”
  • Senior Account Executive, Western Europe/France, Spain – Remote: “Fluency in French and English is required”

That last one is the one to sit with. It is a Spain-based role, tagged Spain, with a French territory focus and a hard French requirement. A Spanish speaker living in Spain cannot do it without French. Residence is not the qualification – the language is, and there is no partial credit on offer. It is the same pattern we found at Alan, where the Belgian roles need Dutch rather than French.

The job title, because a third of the UK roles are shift work. Three of the nine UK remote openings are unsociable hours, and NICE says so honestly in the title:

  • DevOps Engineer – Late Shift (2 PM – 10 PM)
  • Lead DevOps Engineer – Late Shift (2 PM – 10 PM)
  • DevOps Engineer – Night Shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM)

All three report into Cloud Operations for EMEA. That is disclosed properly and up front – but it is easy to skim past when you are scanning for “remote” and “UK”.

The body text, for the phrase “NiCE-FLEX”. If it is there, the advert is telling you about office days regardless of its own location tag.

The one place NICE is genuinely more open than its peers

Seniority.

Most employers in this hub reserve remote work for senior people. At Veeam, 20 of 28 European remote roles are at senior grades; at Datadog every one states a floor of three to six years or more.

NICE has a real spread:

RoleStated experience floor
DevOps Engineer – Night Shift (UK)2+ years
Technical Support Engineer (UK)2+ years
Senior Site Reliability Engineer (UK)3–6 years
Senior AI Conversation Designer (Germany)5+ years
Business Consultant CX (UK)5 years, plus 5 years’ leadership
Team Lead, Technical Support (UK)7+ years

Two roles at two years’ experience is the lowest bar we have found anywhere in this category. Both are UK remote, and both are the kind of role where what you have already done in a service desk or an operations team is the qualification – which makes them worth a look as remote gateway roles, particularly if the shift pattern suits you.

Other things worth knowing

Visa sponsorship is not mentioned anywhere across all 177 adverts. Not a refusal – an absence. Every European remote role names a country, so the practical test is your existing right to work there.

Some roles are not for core NICE. Several European remote openings are for NiCE Cognigy, the acquired conversational-AI business – the Sweden account executive, the German sales engineer and the German conversation designer among them. The advert body switches to “About Cognigy” and describes selling Cognigy rather than NICE. Others sit with NICE Actimize, the financial crime arm. The employing entity is not stated in either case, which is a fair thing to ask about.

No salary is published for any European role.

Frequently asked questions

Is NICE a remote-first company? No. It runs the NiCE-FLEX hybrid model – two days in the office, three remote – and describes fully remote roles as a carve-out for customer-facing positions.

How many NICE roles are remote in Europe? Sixteen are tagged remote. Five of those contain office-attendance text in the body, so eleven are defensibly remote.

Where are they? Nine in the UK, four in Germany, and one each in Sweden, the Netherlands and Spain.

Why does a “Remote” advert mention office days? Because the NiCE-FLEX policy block is pasted into some adverts regardless of their location tag. One advert is tagged Remote and #LI-Hybrid simultaneously. Ask the recruiter which applies.

Does NICE sponsor visas? Not mentioned in any of its 177 adverts.
