The geography of those 64 is the part that matters. California accounts for 23, Texas 11, Washington 10 and New York 10. Databricks runs a substantial remote hiring programme at home and does not currently extend it to this continent in any meaningful volume.

Not one is core product engineering. Every one of them is a role where the person spends their working life in front of customers rather than at a company desk.
⚠️ We are inferring the reason rather than reporting it, and it is worth saying so: in most commercial organisations a field role carries a remote flag because the office was never where that job happened. An account executive covering Denmark is in Copenhagen boardrooms, not in an Amsterdam open-plan. The remote designation is describing the shape of the job, not a policy concession.
Which means the obvious reading – “sales people get remote work and engineers do not” – is the wrong lesson to take. The lesson is narrower: Databricks flags roles as remote when the work is inherently field-based, and does not otherwise.
Two of the six deserve a closer look
The Senior Solutions Architect vacancy is filed under “Remote – United Kingdom” and carries the phrase “Leeds based” in its own job title. A reader filtering for remote roles would find it; a reader in Cardiff would then discover the catch. It is a good illustration of why the location line on a job advert is worth reading in full.
The Delivery Solutions Architect posting reads “Finland; Remote – Denmark; Stockholm, Sweden” – one vacancy, three countries, three different arrangements in a single string.
Should you apply to Databricks from Europe?
Yes, if you are near one of the offices and the work is customer-facing. There are 170 open roles and the company is clearly investing in its European commercial operation. London, Amsterdam, Munich and Paris between them carry more than 100 vacancies.
Yes, if you are in the UK, Denmark or the Netherlands and the role is field-based. Four of the six remote vacancies sit in those three countries, and they are ordinary open positions rather than unicorns. Somebody will get them.
Probably not, if you are looking for remote engineering work from a country where they have no office.
