What Moniepoint does
Moniepoint is a fintech providing digital banking, payments and business lending, built originally for the Nigerian market and now operating as a group headquartered in London. It is one of the larger African-founded technology companies to build a European hiring base rather than simply a European office.
It describes itself as fully remote, with a workforce distributed worldwide. That is a stronger claim than most employers make and the hiring pattern supports it.
Remote Work Europe tracks Moniepoint through the Connected members’ jobs board, where it stands out for a specific reason: the same role is frequently open in four countries at once.
Remote culture: what it’s actually like
Fully remote and distributed is the stated position, and the adverts are consistent with it – roles are listed against multiple countries rather than against an office with remote tolerated.
The honest caveat is that a company built across Lagos and London is spread over time zones that do not neatly overlap, and a European hire is joining an organisation whose centre of gravity is not European. That is not a criticism. It is the thing to ask about at interview, because the answer determines what your working day looks like.
Hiring in Europe: the details
Countries. Broad, and unusually so. Of the seventeen Moniepoint roles on the Remote Work Europe board at the end of September 2026, fifteen were open to Poland, thirteen to Spain, ten to Portugal and nine to the United Kingdom. Most roles were open to several of those simultaneously.
Employment model. Varies by country. A group with a London entity and hires across four European markets is not employing everyone the same way, and the advert does not always say which arrangement applies.
Timezone expectations. Not stated in the listings. Given the Lagos and London centres, this is the question worth asking first.
Language. English throughout.
Salary approach. Not published.
Remote Work Europe Connected
EUR 15 a month for daily curated remote job leads across Europe, hand-picked by a human and scam-filtered, plus the members’ board where these roles are tracked by country.
Who they’re looking for
Senior and lead-level people, heavily weighted towards engineering leadership – Head of Engineering roles across payments, rewards, field verification, and sales and marketing systems, plus test automation and engineering management.
Alongside that sits a commercial and people function: talent marketing at senior principal level, and operational roles supporting a business scaling across markets.
What the hiring pattern tells you
Ten of Moniepoint’s seventeen roles carried our gateway flag, which is the highest proportion of any employer in that group on the board at the end of September 2026.
A gateway role, in the sense Remote Work Europe uses it, is one where somebody can bring existing experience into a first remote setting – where the barrier is not seniority but the absence of prior remote experience on a CV. Employers who have never had an office cannot screen for it, because nobody there has it either.
The multi-country listings matter for the same reason. An advert open to Poland, Spain, Portugal and the UK simultaneously is an employer that has solved the employment plumbing in four jurisdictions. Most have not, and it is the single most common reason a genuinely remote advert turns out not to be open to you.
If you have the experience but not the remote track record, our guide to remote gateway roles sets out the four signals worth looking for.
How to apply
- Careers: roles are posted through the company’s own applicant tracking system and applications go directly to Moniepoint
- LinkedIn: Moniepoint on LinkedIn
Specific tips: check which country the contract would be in before you get attached to the role, because a listing open to four countries does not mean four identical offers. Ask about the overlap expectation early – a distributed company spanning Lagos and London has made a decision about core hours and it will shape your day. And if you are applying to a Head of Engineering post, the org is scaling fast enough that the shape of the team you would inherit is a fair question to ask at first interview rather than third.
