What Oviva does

Oviva is a digital health company treating weight-related and diet-related conditions remotely, founded in 2014 and now employing more than 1,500 people across Europe. Patients are referred by their doctor or insurer and then work with a dietitian, psychotherapist or physician through an app, rather than attending a clinic.

That model matters for anyone job-hunting, because it makes Oviva one of the few European employers where the clinical work itself is remote by design. The dietitian is not working from home on admin days. The consultation is the remote part.

Remote Work Europe tracks Oviva’s hiring through the Connected members’ jobs board, and it is an unusual employer in our data for reasons set out below.

Remote culture: what it’s actually like

Oviva describes a flexible arrangement rather than a remote-first one: staff combine working from home with office attendance, with latitude over where the work happens. That is an honest description and worth reading literally. This is not a company that has abolished offices; it is one where a large share of roles are delivered remotely because the care itself is.

The practical consequence is that the remote experience depends heavily on which role you take. Clinical roles are remote because the patient is at the other end of an app. Commercial and engineering roles sit closer to a normal European hybrid arrangement.

Hiring in Europe: the details

Countries. Oviva hires across several European markets. Of the thirteen Oviva roles on the Remote Work Europe board at the end of September 2026, seven were in Switzerland, four in Germany, one in the United Kingdom and one in Poland.

Employment model. Employed positions rather than contracting, including clinical roles that would often be freelance elsewhere.

Working patterns. This is the part that makes Oviva stand out. Three of the thirteen roles were explicitly part-time, advertised at percentages rather than hours – “40-100%”, “50-80%” – which is standard Swiss practice and genuinely rare in remote hiring.

Language. German is required for the Swiss and German clinical roles, which are advertised in German. Commercial roles are more often in English.

Salary approach. Not published on the adverts.

Who they’re looking for

The clinical side dominates: dietitians, psychotherapists, and physicians with Swiss or German registration. Oviva also hires specialists with an interdisciplinary qualification, which is named explicitly in the advert titles.

Alongside that sits a smaller commercial and technical team – B2B marketing leads, sales managers, data engineers – hiring on the same remote basis.

The registration requirement is the real gate. A psychotherapist licensed in Switzerland can do this work from home; one licensed elsewhere cannot, however good they are.

What the hiring pattern tells you

Twelve of Oviva’s thirteen roles on our board were non-technical, which is unusual. Most remote-first employers we track are engineering-heavy, and a jobseeker without a technical background finds the majority of listings closed to them before they start.

Oviva is the reverse. It is also the single largest source of genuinely part-time remote roles in our data: of nine part-time roles across more than 1,400 live listings at the end of September 2026, three were Oviva’s.

That is worth stating plainly, because it is a pattern rather than a coincidence. Part-time remote work in Europe is concentrated in regulated clinical practice, where sessional working has always been normal. If you want a remote role at four days a week, healthcare is where to look first, and it is the reason we now tag part-time roles on the board at all.

If you are working out how to describe existing experience for a remote setting, our guide to remote gateway roles covers how experienced people get in when the advert seems to want somebody else.

How to apply

  • Careers page: oviva.com/global/en/career – roles are posted through Ashby and applications go directly to the company
  • Check the language of the advert first. A German-language posting means German-language patient work

Specific tips: state your registration and where it is valid in the first line of your application, because that is the first thing a reviewer checks. For the part-time roles, the percentage is negotiable within the stated band rather than fixed, which is what the “40-100%” format is telling you. And if you are applying from outside Switzerland for a Swiss role, address the right-to-work question yourself rather than leaving it to be discovered.
