EU Pay Transparency Directive: member states face June 7 transposition deadline

EU member states must transpose the Pay Transparency Directive (2023/970) into national law by June 7, 2026. The directive requires employers to disclose salary ranges in job postings, bans pay secrecy clauses, and gives workers the right to request pay information for comparable roles.

For remote workers, this is a significant shift — salary transparency in job ads will make it easier to evaluate opportunities across borders. Companies with 100+ employees will also need to report gender pay gaps. Several member states are still drafting their implementing legislation, so the exact rules will vary by country.
