Spain's minimum wage rise pushes Digital Nomad Visa income threshold higher
On 17 February, Spain’s Council of Ministers approved Royal Decree 126/2026, raising the minimum interprofessional salary (SMI) by 3.1% to EUR 1,221/month. Since the digital nomad visa requires 200% of SMI, the effective income threshold has risen accordingly.
Applicants planning to apply for Spain’s Digital Nomad Visa should ensure their demonstrable income meets the new threshold before submitting documentation.
